Inferences of SIngapore River in the Past

Based on this photo, the areas around the Singapore river, or this specific area of the river, was specially used as one of the main trading ports of the Singapore river.

I can infer as the statues are holding many different devices used to sell and calculate the cost of things. Some such items are the abacus which was used for calculations before the calculator existed. Another key item was the weighing scale that was used to weight different amounts of materials.
