Our Feelings during the Trail

When we were working on this task, we enjoy the walk the most. It made up 2 hours of our trail as we had walked the wrong direction for an hour before we realized. When we realized we only realized we had walked in the wrong direction when we sat down to check on GoogleMaps, why we had not reached the Anderson Bridge after so long.
A challenge we faced would have been the weather causing us to be very tired and dehydrated. Another challenge would have been the clashes between the schedules of my teammates because while I was busy on Wednesday because of my basketball match, Elgin and Wei Hong were busy on Tuesday and Thursday because of their football match. Also we had to complete our e-learning before we could meet up, we only had Friday and the afternoon to visit the location as a group.
Our group working dynamics were fine as we knew one another well and could work together fine and cooperate to find our needed information.
If our group was given one more chance to re-do this project, I suggest we had checked out our route first instead of exploring when we went there.

Inferences of SIngapore River in the Past

Based on this photo, the areas around the Singapore river, or this specific area of the river, was specially used as one of the main trading ports of the Singapore river.

I can infer as the statues are holding many different devices used to sell and calculate the cost of things. Some such items are the abacus which was used for calculations before the calculator existed. Another key item was the weighing scale that was used to weight different amounts of materials.

Study of South-east Asian artifacts

• • Ans: It was seen that there were many old boats and houses in and along the singapore river. Based on this example (there are many more), it shows the preserved scene of how Singapore was like in the past and the activities which took place. And these included the job of selling drinks and tickets for boat rides along the river. For this, I believed that it was in the past that people used to travel along the river to get around maybe to the other side of the river faster, unlike for now with proper roads and even bridges, where people ride on the boats just for sight-seeing and recreational purposes.
  
  
• Using photographic evidences, do you think the shape course of Singapore River will change in the future? Justify your answers.
Ans: Based on the observations from the Singapore River and some of our photos we taken there (with the additional double-checking from Google Maps), the group concluded that the shape course of it may change as there are narrow and wide parts of the river as seen in the map, indicating that the soil is slowly eroding for the narrower parts. The river will therefore change shape in the future.

• Based on your findings in the Asian Civilisations Museum,
1. identify one civilisation that you would discuss how people in the civilisation deal with their constraints and how their responses contribue to the social, cultural and technological changes that occured in Asia
• Ans: The civilisation that the group chose together is the South-East Asian Civilisation. This is the civilisation that we would use to discuss on how people from this civilisation deal with their constraints and how their responses contribue to the social, cultural and technological changes that occured in Asia.
2. Select THREE artefacts to learn how they had evolved to today's modern version.
3. Ans: We chose the artefact crystal seal, the osa osa and the sandstone figure of Buddha.

• For the crystal seal, they dont use crystal that often nowadays but metal as metal is much more readily available to us compared to crystal.

For the Osa Osa, the people that could sit on it was very high ranking in tribe society, or noblemen. The same of the Osa Osa, in this case Si Sarambagi which indicates that it has one, not three heads. Its ferociousness is represented by its warrior's necklace. It was used in feasts and festivals.

It was said that the naga(snake-like being) Muchalinda, king of snakes, protected Buddha from the rain from the heavens after his enlightenment. It is shown in the statue that Buddha is meditating.
